berimbau
Berimbau is one of the music instruments that accompany the Capoeira martial art. Berimbau is shaped like a bow but the usage of it is different. Berimbau has 6 different parts which is; Pau, Arame, Cabaça, Baqueta, Dobrao and Caxixi.
Pau is a wooden stick and it is the backbone of the Berimbau. Arame is the string to make the sound, it has to be a really strong string. Cabaça is a dried gourd and it is used to strengthen the sound of the Arame. Baqueta is a stick to make the sound Arame. Dobrao is used to even the sound, so it won’t be so loud, it can be a coin or flat- formed stone. Caxixi is like a additional instruments, when the Baqueta strikes the Arame the Caxixi is shacked. Caxixi consist of seeds.
