forró dance
If you think that Samba is the national dance of Brazil, you’re wrong the real national dance is Forró. Forró is a partner dance but less sensual than Zouk. Actually Forró is a genre of Brazilian music but then they make it to a dance. There is 3 rhythms in Forró: Xote, Baião and Arrasta pé.
Xote is more like the waltz, partner slow dance. It’s just left to right movements, no spinning and other movements. Baião is a little faster than Xote. The movements are almost the same in Xote but in Baião there is spinning and other movements. Last but not least there is Arrasta pé. Arrasta pé is the fastest rhythm, it needs more power and speed because what they do with their foot is unbelievable.
